East Dart Inn

Spent two nights here whilst completing a training course on the moors. They were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and provided a fantastic breakfast. The rooms were also lovely, would definitely stay again!

Absolutely fantastic place! Food, drink, and sleeping at top quality in a stunning location. You can't get a better location for hikes and cycling. They told me they can accommodate even bigger groups, so this is perfect for outdoors groups (I'm doing many outdoor events and I know this would be perfect!). Karen and Geena are great hosts, making everyone feel very welcome and they are very flexible and customer focused. They have a unique pizza oven so make sure to try some pizzas! The buildings are very stylish, in a Victorian style with attention to detail. I will definitely be back and recommend this to others.

Just back from a great long weekend walking holiday based here. Literally at the centre of Dartmoor about 50m from the Clapper Bridge at Postbridge. Great base for walks etc. Staff very warm and friendly. Dogs welcome. First rate cooked breakfast both days, first rate lamb roast on Sunday and great fish and chips Saturday. The ensuite room looked brand new. Homely atmosphere. Cant beat it. Didnt want to go home. Our dog also loved it. Well be back again this year.

A lovely pub with rooms available for hikers and holiday makers. The food is fantastic and the staff are welcoming. It's a old style pub with tea rooms available. The main bar is huge with plenty of seating and a fire place lit in the winter, perfect after a hike around Belliver. It's also dog friendly.

Had a roast dinner today, and I have to say the meal was amazing. A beautiful inn In a beautiful setting. Will definitely be visiting again.

My friend and I stopped here after a gruelling walk of our second day in Dartmoor whilst wild camping. We were met by friendly staff who chatted to us and got our drinks promptly and even showed us their awesome wood-fired pizza! This is the perfect place to relax after a long walk and have a drink and a bite to eat! I bet the rooms are lovely too! The location for hikers is absolutely perfect and there is a very comfortable back garden to sit in the sun and enjoy the variety of beers on offer! I would certainly recommend this Inn to anyone going to Dartmoor! /

After a soggy walk in the lashing rain, I came into the pub to warm up with a hot chocolate and to change into dry clothes. The staff were super friendly - even offering me slippers when they saw my bare feet drying out! They also helped me get back to my car which was a life saver. Thank you team!

I visited the East Dart Inn today with a friend and was greeted warmly by the friendly staff as soon as we stepped through the door. One of the team kindly offered us a tour of the place, which was a lovely touch and really showed off everything the inn has to offer. It's clear that the new owner has taken over and invested in a complete renovation – the whole pub feels fresh, thoughtfully updated, and full of character while preserving its historic Dartmoor charm. The atmosphere is incredibly warm and relaxing, especially with the cosy enclosed log fire glowing away – perfect for a chilly day on the moors. There's a great games room with a pool table for a fun, laid-back evening. During the tour, we saw the high-standard accommodation – the rooms are luxurious yet cosy, with modern en-suites and a real touch of elegance that makes them stand out. The quality of the food and drinks was top-notch, and all the staff were so attentive and genuinely friendly throughout. It's dog-friendly too, which is brilliant for anyone exploring Dartmoor with pets. If you're in the Postbridge area, this is an absolute must-visit (or stay!). The new team has turned it into something special – we'll definitely be returning soon!
